What?Who?How?
This is a community geared toward icons without text or texture and other effects on them. The focus of your artwork should be to highlight your subject rather than on use of textures and backgrounds. No text. If you want to post hush icons that do utilize textures and such, feel free to join our sister community [community profile] 100x100hush. To post or find resources and tutorials, feel free to join [community profile] iconophile. (You may post texted and other icons there too.)

I want to keep it that way. Please play nice.

I want this to be a friendly and safe environment. There is nothing wrong with the use of textures and patterned backgrounds on icons. There's nothing wrong with using text. There is also nothing "lazy" or "unfinished" about not using those things. I make icons in a lot of different styles (as I'm sure you do) and I've found that it often takes more time and effort to make an effective blank icon than to make an effective icon in another style. That doesn't mean this community is against other icon styles. Please keep elitist sentiments in your personal journals. Thanks.

-Please be polite. Say "thanks for sharing." Say "not taking, but these are nice." Artists spend a lot of time uploading these things. It's nice to know that other people enjoy them.
